POSITION SUMMARY:The Bookkeeper plays a vital role in maintaining accurate financial records for an organization. They are responsible for recording all financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring that financial statements are up-to-date and accurate. Our Bookkeeper must possess strong attention to detail, proficiency in accounting software (QBO), and a solid understanding of financial principles. As a true business partner to the director of Finance, the book keeper will help develop the annual budget. He/she will develop tools and systems to provide critical financial and operational information for the finance Dept. PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES <ol><li>Recording Transactions: Record all financial transactions accurately and promptly, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments, utilizing accounting software or manual ledgers as necessary.</li><li>Accounts Payable: Manage accounts payable by processing invoices, verifying transactions, and ensuring timely payment to vendors and suppliers.</li><li>Accounts Receivable: Monitor accounts receivable, send invoices to clients, follow up on overdue payments, and record incoming payments.</li><li>Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements with financial records regularly to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.</li><li>Payroll Processing: Calculate and process employee payroll, including deductions, taxes, and benefits, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.</li><li>Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, on a regular basis to provide insights into the organization's financial health.</li><li>Budget Maintenance: Assist in the preparation and monitoring of budgets, providing insights into spending patterns and assisting in financial planning.</li><li>Audit Support: Prepare documentation and assist auditors during financial audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.</li><li>Tax Compliance: Assist in preparing and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations to minimize tax liabilities.</li><li>Record Maintenance: Maintain organized and accurate financial records, ensuring that documents are properly filed and easily accessible for reference.</li><li>Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement, providing insights to support decision-making.</li><li>Communication: Collaborate with other members of the finance team, as well as departments across the organization, to provide financial information and support as needed.</li><li>Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and best practices, and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy</li><li>Adheres to the law and companys policies.</li><li> Coordinates audits and proper filing of tax.</li><li> Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.</li><li> Represents the company to financial partners, including financial institutions, investors, foundation executives, auditors, public officials, etc.</li></ol>CAPABILITIES / KEY COMPETENCIES: Proficiency with QBO, word processing and spreadsheets.
